“Can the agency of the plan be entirely rethought to no longer be simply relegated to a set of descriptive orthographic drawings?  Can the plan be resuscitated into new life, new applications, new considerations?”

Making Plans is a short Mason White piece that enlists different strategies for re-thinking ‘The Plan’.

For those interested, here a few suggested Rhino tutorials:

Getting Started (from Design Reform) – intro to the interface and getting around

Curves & Surfaces (from ParaMod) – note that ParaMod (Karl Daubman from Ply and U of Michigan) has a bunch of other very good tutorials that are also worth looking at

Digital Toolbox (lots of great Rhino tutorials)

Just found out that there is an exceptional lecture that you should make if at all possible – it’s Sheila Kennedy of Kennedy Violich Architects. I’ve heard her speak before and she’s excellent. It’s at 7 pm tonight (Monday) in Rapson 100. Hope some of you can make it.

Here is a copy of the grading rubric for today’s formal review. As you can see, the categories of assessment coincide with many of the grading criteria we included in the studio syllabus. It may be useful for you to go over these briefly prior to our review this afternoon.
